To keep our focus on the fact that we are a team based fellowship, we will normally finish our Mercy Night meeting with some time for teams to meet. This will be an important opportunity for people who haven’t joined a team to see what teams are available and who is in them. It will emphasize our interest in providing a team for everyone and encouraging everyone to be on a team. Some teams may find that they have enough time together at the end of our weekly fellowship to call that their weekly meeting. Other teams will choose to meet again during the week at a time and place that works for the team.
Some teams may feel free to hang around for an hour or more after the larger fellowship meeting. Others may feel like they need to get home. Be aware of the needs and interests of your team in deciding how long to meet after the larger fellowship meeting and whether to meet again during the week.
We expect that we will have some people visit Mercy Night who will want to leave before team time. They may feel like they have already been in the building long enough or they may be uncomfortable with the idea of meeting with a smaller group. Of course we aren’t going to pressure those who want to leave, but we will continue to offer the opportunity to connect with a team.
The format of your team time will vary depending on what your team is focused on and the interests of your team. You should always spend some time praying with your team.
